Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Marietta Team Behind Alcott Chimney Marietta
We’re a small crew, and that’s deliberate. Every technician who shows up at your door in Marietta is someone we know well, someone who’s been background-checked and identity-verified through the Threshold Standard before they ever stepped onto a customer’s property. We don’t subcontract, and we don’t send strangers. We send our own people, by name and photo, before they arrive. That’s been the way since 2002, and it’s still how Ruben runs things today. Here’s who you’ll actually meet.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has been sweeping and inspecting chimneys in Cobb County for over fourteen years, and he’s seen just about every kind of firebox, flue, and forgotten bird’s nest metro Atlanta can produce. He holds current certifications through the Chimney Safety Institute of America and specializes in Level 2 video inspections, the kind that catch cracked flue tiles before they become a bigger problem. Marcus is the one Ruben trusts to walk a homeowner through camera footage and explain exactly what he’s seeing, no jargon, no pressure. Off the clock, he’s usually rebuilding a muscle car in his garage in Powder Springs, and he’ll talk your ear off about carburetors if you let him.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana leads our repair and liner installation work across Marietta, Smyrna, and Kennesaw. She’s factory-trained on DuraFlex liner systems and HeatShield resurfacing, and she’s been with Alcott for nine years after starting out as an apprentice on commercial relining jobs in Gwinnett County. Dana is the person we send when a chimney needs structural work: a new cap, a crown repair, a liner replacement measured and fit to the flue, not improvised. She grew up in Mableton and knows the older 1960s and 70s ranch homes around East Cobb well enough to predict what’s behind the brick before she opens it up. She’s also the reason our job trailers are so meticulously organized.
Priya S. – Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice on the phone when you call (229) 350-8952, and she’s been answering those calls for six years. She schedules every appointment, sends out the name-and-photo preview before each visit, and keeps the written price quotes moving so you always know what a job will cost before anyone picks up a brush. Priya knows the inspection and sweep process inside out, which means she can answer real questions over the phone instead of putting you on hold. She lives in Smyrna with a very opinionated rescue beagle named Biscuit, and she remembers almost every repeat customer by name.
Tyler B. – Apprentice Technician
Tyler joined us two years ago after working residential construction in Acworth, and he’s learning the trade the way we think it should be learned: alongside a lead technician on every single job, never sent out alone until he’s ready. He shadows Marcus on sweeps and inspections, helps Dana with liner prep and crown repairs, and takes care of the grunt work like roof access setup and debris containment. Tyler grew up in Marietta and graduated from Sprayberry High School, so he knows the neighborhoods we work in and the way winter temps and spring rains affect local chimneys. He’s the one who hands you the photo report at the end of the job and makes sure the site is cleaner than we found it.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this crew works the same way, and that’s not an accident. The Threshold Standard isn’t a marketing phrase, it’s the rule: every technician passes a background check and identity verification before ever stepping on a customer’s property. That’s Threshold Verified, and it applies to Marcus, Dana, Tyler, and everyone else who wears the Alcott name. Every job gets a written price before work begins. Every repair gets a written guarantee, and if that repair fails within the coverage period, the second visit is free. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, Ruben’s non-negotiable since day one. One standard, every job, whether it’s a routine sweep in East Cobb or a full liner replacement in Kennesaw. When you book with us, you’ll know who’s coming, what it will cost, and that we stand behind the work for a full year.
