Gas fireplace serviceLevel 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Chimney Cleaning Before & After in Marietta, GA
We could tell you our sweeps are thorough, but honestly, seeing the work is more convincing. The photos below show what we actually walk into in Marietta homes and what the flue looks like when we’re done. No stock images, no exaggerated staging. Just the kind of buildup that accumulates in real chimneys in Cobb County and what a proper cleaning removes.

Third-Generation Creosote Buildup in a 1960s East Cobb Fireplace
Before
After
Before
AfterThe homeowner had burned unseasoned pine for years, which builds the third-stage glazed creosote, the tar-like, shiny coating you see on the left. This is the type that won’t come off with a basic brush. We used our rotary cleaning equipment and professional creosote treatment products to break the glaze down. The flue on the right is what safe looks like.
Neglected Wood-Burning Stove in Kennesaw
Before
After
This stove had gone four winters without a sweep. The flue was narrowed to maybe half its original diameter, which messes with draft and pushes smoke back into the room. We swept the full system, including the connector pipe, and removed just under a full large bucket of black soot and creosote. Afterward, the stove’s draft pulled as it should.
Animal Nest Blockage in a Powder Springs Fireplace

The homeowner called because they’d heard scratching for a couple of weeks. Our camera inspection found a nest fully blocking the upper third of the flue. We removed it, swept the entire length, and corrected a bent damper as well. Since that visit, no more scratching, no more smoke pushing back into the living room.
Water-Damaged Brick and Rusted Damper in a Smyrna Cape Cod

This one started with a musty smell every time it rained. No cap on the flue meant water had been getting in for years. We swept it, freed the damper, and corrected the moisture entry at the top. The homeowner got the fireback in working order again, and the smell hasn’t returned.
Chimney Fire Avoided in a West Cobb Split-Level

This call came in because the homeowner smelled something acrid every time they used the fireplace. That’s a warning sign. Flaky second-stage creosote had built up enough to threaten ignition. We removed it fully, inspected for any hidden cracks, and confirmed the smoke chamber was clear. The homeowner can now burn without that smell or that risk.
